treatment with care
Desborough osteopaths are here to take care of your pain, injury or rehab needs
Alex has over 20 years experience as an osteopath. First, graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in 1999, before working in the Kettering and Desborough areas. Alex has built a large and varied patient list over the years, offering treatments for sports injuries, pre and post natal and postural pain. Previously based at the GPs surgery, Alex has now opened his new premises on Federation Avenue at the Old Police House.
“Great Osteopath. I visited only once with an unknown back injury that had stopped me from playing football and golf for several months. A few weeks later I could play both and the injury is now gone. Very reasonable price too, I couldn’t recommend more - especially for sports injuries.”
“Wouldn’t go to any other osteopath. Alex has always gone the extra mile and given me fab results.”
What our patients say...
“Alex is one of the friendliest medical professionals I have ever met. Over just a few appointments, Alex helped relieve my sciatica pain. Would recommend to anyone who needs an osteopath.”
“I had an appointment for a shoulder injury. After 3 sessions I was fully recovered. Very friendly and professional service. I would highly recommend.”
“Amazing experience at Desborough Osteopaths. Pain relieved quickly and would return for any future problems.”
What can we offer?
Osteopaths use physical manipulation, stretching and massage with the aim of:
increasing the mobility of joints
relieving muscle tension
reducing pain
enhancing the blood supply to tissues
helping the body to heal
Osteopathy uses a range of techniques, but not medicines or surgery.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines on managing lower back pain and sciatica recommend manual therapy alongside exercise as a treatment option.
NICE also recommends manual therapy as a possible treatment option for osteoarthritis, although osteopathy is not specifically mentioned.

What to expect from your appointment
Every patient can expect:
We will make your care our priority
To be treated with dignity and respect
To be involved in decisions about your care
To receive a prompt response to any concerns
Their private information to be protected
In the first consultation, we will take a detailed case history from you which will cover your current problem, your health history, the medications you are on and any other question relevant to your medical history. All your answers will be noted and kept confidential. We will then examine you based on the case history. We generally look at the whole body as it is quite often the case that the area that is symptomatic, the thing that led you to coming to see an osteopath, is not the area that is causing the pain, so it is important that we can see how movement in one part of your body affects movement in another part of your body.
New patient info
When you first call to book in your initial consultation, our receptionist will ask you a few questions surrounding your desired appointment time and your area of concern. You will then have an opportunity to ask any questions. Please see our key info below to help.
